The National University System Institute for Policy Research, LLC, (NUS-IPR) is a non-partisan organization that formulates and promotes high quality economic, policy, and public-opinion research so as to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of local governments in San Diego County and to improve the quality of life enjoyed by the region's citizens.

On an ongoing basis, the National University System Institute for Policy Research commits to its stakeholders to:

• Publish regular ledgers of the San Diego economy
• Produce timely major Policy Reports on pressing San Diego issues
• Conduct public opinion surveys to see what San Diegans are thinking
• Produce a Speakers Series that provokes intelligent dialogue
