Vince Vasquez is the Senior Policy Analyst with the National University System Institute for Policy Research. He works on a wide variety of regional and statewide policy issues, including small business, craft brewing, elections and demographics.
Mr. Vasquez’s opinion pieces have appeared in many publications, including the Wall Street Journal, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Francisco Examiner, Silicon Valley-San Jose Business Journal, and the Los Angeles Business Journal. He has also given extensive media interviews, including CNN, the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, San Francisco Chronicle, Investor’s Business Daily, New York Sun, local television news, and numerous local and national radio show programs. Mr. Vasquez is an adjunct scholar with the Cascade Policy Institute, a think tank in Portland, Oregon.
Prior to joining the National University System Institute for Policy Research, Mr. Vasquez worked at the Pacific Research Institute for Public Policy, an economic think tank based in San Francisco. He also worked at the Leadership Institute, a non-profit educational foundation in Arlington, Virginia.
Mr. Vasquez is involved in a number of civic initiatives in San Diego County. He is the co-founder of the UCSD Military Veteran Scholarship Fund, and serves on the advisory board of the Convoy Business District Partnership. He is a graduate of the San Diego County Water Authority Citizens Academy, and the City of Carlsbad Citizens Academy.
Mr. Vasquez received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He has also received a Master of Public Administration degree from Keller Graduate School of Management. He is completing coursework towards a Master of Business Administration at National University.
