SAN DIEGO - The recent release of the December 2014 employment and occupational data for San Diego County provides an opportunity to examine how employment has changed since 2004. During the past 10 years the region experienced one of its largest housing bubbles, its greatest modern-era housing bust, and its deepest downturn and recovery since the Great Depression. In this decade the region has transformed itself in important ways and presents policy makers with significant challenges as they seek to create a more prosperous San Diego and an economy that serves the interests of all the region’s residents.
