Kelly Cunningham, National University System
Answer: Yes

Working in downtown San Diego, I moved to Little Italy so I could walk to work. There were many personal economic benefits by not commuting in addition to not contributing to smog hanging over the city. I freed up hours of my day, avoided rush-hour traffic congestion, wear on my vehicle, and costs of gas and parking. I even got more exercise walking. When I began working at National University in La Jolla, I moved again as close to work as possible, although I miss living downtown. The rising price of gas makes me especially glad I did.
