Unfortunately, the invasion of Crimea once again reawakens and reaffirms the dangers of geo-political events in the world in which we live. The current administration’s lack of a coherent foreign policy seems opposite to Teddy Roosevelt’s famous adage to instead “talk loudly and carry a small stick.” The essential need for a competent and effective military force capable of defending and asserting U.S. interests is abundantly apparent. National interests in sustaining and bolstering military and defense operations remain important sectorial drivers of San Diego’s economic fortunes. Increasing investment in military personnel and industrial resources always tends to bolster the local economy.
