“Economies tend to slow down — they’re not going to accelerate” at this stage in an economic cycle, he said, and recession is not out of the question.
“I wouldn’t put it outside the realm of possibility,” he said.
And given the apparent national economic slowdown in the fourth quarter of 2015, the U.S. may already be in a downturn.
Cunningham came to these conclusions in his “San Diego 2016: Economic Outlook,” being published Wednesday.
