The region's tech industry piled up a mix of encouraging and disappointing metrics for the final quarter of 2010 and the whole year, according to a new innovation report from Connect, the San Diego technology entrepreneurship nonprofit.
San Diego County performed well in the key area of patents, according to the report. The area continues to lead Southern California in "patent density," the number of patents per capita.
