Tech employment accounted for 11 percent of all jobs in San Diego County in the first quarter, or more than 141,000 jobs, the report said. The numbers were supplied by the National University System Institute for Policy Research.
Software took the biggest share, with slightly more than 28,000 jobs, nosing out life sciences, which had nearly the same number.
