A study from National University’s Institute for Policy Research reports that in the last two years:

• Local breweries have doubled in number.

• Jobs have grown by 40 percent, from 1,630 to 2,279.

• Sales jumped by more than $100 million, from $680.9 million to $781.5 million.

• Brewery and brewpub employees make higher wages than counterparts in beer-savvy regions like Denver and Portland, Ore.

This is not a “beer bubble,” the report’s author insisted. While individual breweries may fail, Vince Vasquez said, the industry seems poised to prosper.
