Should we diligently look to ensure that San Diego doesn’t build in ways that puts undue strain on a limited resource like water? Surely. But thinking that we could pull up the drawbridge and take carefree 30-minute showers does not comport with the realities of California’s water challenges nor the relationships between population growth and water demand.
