Kelly Cunningham, National University System - NO: The amendment itself would not have inflationary effects, and could stimulate more homes being listed for sale. Adding more for-sale homes tends to bring prices down, however given San Diego’s lack of new residential construction, difficult to see much impact as demand exceeds supply by so much. With San Diego’s prevailing anti-development bias and constraints on new building, encouraging churn in the existing supply of homes is one of only options left to address demand.
